I would check before using it. Some lining papers are treated with an anti-fungal chemical. I don't know the toxicity if any but would rather check first.
Any architects, printers or graphic studios around? I got some off-cut ends of draughting paper and sometimes use that as a lining under the aspen. 
Another is the local fish & chip shop. The white wrapping paper they use is ideal. Might have to order an extra portion of chips or chuck a pound into the charity tin but worth the ask anyway.  |

I haven't, but I have memories of some one using it when they had mites.
Agree it would look better than newspaper - I use newspaper because it is free  |
