Came home to half dead flying ants in the livingroom - totally freaked bit but managed to get rid of them and get some powder down, not seen any since, fingers crossed I won't coz I'm terrified of them.

Anyway,Freddies faun is in the same room, will he be ok in there with the ant powder? The ant powder (which is around the skirting boards at the opposite side of the room from Freddie) is nowhere near his faun, and his faun is on a side board thing (not on the floor). Should I move him upstairs to my room till I get rid of the powder,or will he be ok? He's just eaten so don't want to stress him,but obviously if it is going to affect him I'll need to. Opinions please!

Oh, my other half just informed me that today was "FLANT day". There were loads outside in his work yard. Apparently they're early, but they should sod off soon enough.

Attack them with the hoover.

Failing that, KILL THEM WITH FIRE!!!

If there are any more tonight i'm gona move him and use some different stuff i found, spray rather than powder. He was ok this morning, digesting his pinkie in his hide

Honestly i hate them with a passion, i was greetin and everything, so pathetic haha! And my friend that lives with me wasn't home and isn't till tomorrow......so fingers crossed none when i get home from work! Took me about 40mins to get rid of them coz of all my flapping haha!

Ugh god, how horrible! I am fascinated by ants, but horribly scared of them. The flying ones creep me out something rotten! I'm sure Freddie will be okay though.

Ewww they are horrible things! I don't mind them outside, no problem at all, but not in my livingroom! Because the ants were all half dead and in no state to fly (or even crawl some of them!) i left him overnight and got up to check a few times during the night - no sign of any more! Woo. Have found there is a nest right outside my house so have made a few calls to get that sorted, and the powder seems to be working so all is good.

Was worried the fumes from the powder might get to him, but it was so far away from him and like i said the ants all half dead or dead, so no need to worry anymore!

I'm going to do the hot water thing when i have someone with me, the thought of them all flying out scares the **** out of me!

I dont know about the issue with flying ants in the house, apart from they must have a nest outside close by, you should see when we having flying ants where i live, millions of the things, quite a site lol, I think we live on a giant ants nest, but I use a few kettles of boiled water :) always seems to sort them out lol, luckily we haven't had a problem with flying ants for about 3 years now, If you dont want to risk the ants transfering powder to Freddies enclousure, I'd play it the safe way for a little while, and move him into your bedroom, better to be safe than sorry, hope you get it sorted x
