My new Bloodred is a bit of a jumper! Just wondered who else has a corn who think it can fly!?!
How long does it normally take for them to calm down with regular short burst handling? |

To be honest no, in fact mine was probably the most laid back of them all, however she is the only yearling who will run for cover when trying to remove from the viv, the others just don't care except my Okeetee who has always been a head case! |

Bloods do tend to be a bit mental in my experience, all my diffused hatchlings are crazy fast and hissy, my 3 diffused sub-adults are nuts too, out of the morphs I've had dealings with bloodreds are definitely the feistiest! |

My lil ghost was like that so i made myself a lil regimented routine (it turned my kingsnake around inside two weeks the lil ghost took a while longer though) id take her out for a few minutes in the morning then lunchtime and teatime then a prolonged session in the evening i have noticed housing is a big issue making the lil ones feel secure is paramount and least noisier rubs you have the better the clips on mine used to freak out mine a bit now i only use the Really Usefull Box brand |

Apollo thought he could fly when I first got him, he would make a mad dash and attempt to leap out of my hands! He wasn't even a hatchling, he was a yearling! It only took him about a week, maybe a week and a half of short handling periods every day (over the bed because I was terrified I would drop him, and missing two days whenever he fed.) for him to calm down. He's now very chilled (Just over two months later) and has even been handled by an 8 year old boy without any problems. 
Hopefully your little one will calm down in time too |

Dotty my snow corn if the epitome of a blonde skydiver, I handle her daily, have had her for 3 years from a hatchling and she still will not grip...she is the wiggliest thing ever. I put her in our ficus tree and she hangs on but as soon as you hold her she will not coil or constrict, kinda like trying to hold a bug than a snake, have to hand over hand hold her most the time so she will not fall, have to give her somewhere to go... |

Jinx was really jumpy at first, how he never ended up on the floor i dont know, i've had him about 4 months now and he has calmed down loads, he still has his moments mainly if he hasn't been handled for a fews days |

My Star is about a year and can still be jumpy sometimes! I always keep her out tho till she is calm then let her go back as a reward |

My blood is about 6 week old and is calm one minute and trying to jump out of my hands the next!
I've never experienced such a jumpy snake! |

They can be jumpy at first my youngest is five weeks old and is fine and being handled its very mellow |
