Fed all the snakes last night and as I normally do when I am short for time, I just put a sheet of kitchen roll into the vivs, put their mice on them and left them to it. I had an hour getting some jobs done then had a peek in on all the snakes before I went to bed. Bloomin good job I did. I noticed Phantom had managed to mess up the piece of kitchen roll and get it all wet. As i looked closer, I saw Phantom was very still despite looking like he was still mid swallow but his head was underneath the kitchen roll. As I moved the kitchen roll from his head, I realised he was swallowing the kitchen roll. I tried to ease it away from his mouth but it was further down his throat than I thought. I figured the only way to get it out was for him to regurge it so I lifted his top half up and gently pulled on the kitchen roll. Thankfully he regurged it himself and I could see that the stupid snake had tried to eat the mouse even though it was wrapped up in the kitchen roll. I am soooooo glad I checked on him as I think I would probably have woken up to a dead snake this morning. I just hope he doesn't also regurge his first mouse as well although I suspect he will after that.
From now on, i am putting mice on dishes instead of kitchen roll if I have to feed in viv. I don't ever want that to happen again.

Must have been so scary. Glad you found him and hopefully he won't regurge the mouse as well.

Hi, just saw your post!! Sounds really scarry to have to deal with that, and thank God you noticed and he was sick! I am a new snake owner and for sure would have had no idea what to do, am learning more and more daily. I saw how many pets you have!!!!!! Do you get any time for yourself??? Just wondered if all the snakes can be out together or not, would they fight?

We have had Frank for 4 weeks, baby carolina, and a cat Moji for 11 years, and fish.
