Is there anyone local to me, Suffolk, IP14 3NW, that has in prolapses in female corns that could maybe come and help Cindy. Cindy has laid one more egg 10 days after laying the infertile clutch. She shed friday was fed saturday first thing then at lunch time laid an egg and prolapsed. I get the feeling that there maybe an egg stuck and the prolaspe is oviduct with egg in it. The prolapse itself is about the size of a small walnut and does look egg shape and feels like the firmness of an egg. I can get her to a vet tomorrow but not a reptile specialist so guess they will put her to sleep as they tend not to do snakes and I can't drive so travelling is a real issue. Have had her in baths of sugar water and applied ky jelly and kept her on newpaper. She regurged the mouse last night, to be expected, but still looks bright in herself. I am gutted/devastated. She was not mated so it just makes it even worse really.

I'm sure she'll be fine in a pillowcase for the journey, and in this weather I don't think she'll need anything to keep her warm Hope it goes well, must be such a worry  |

Thanks Hissyfit. I am going to speak to the vets in stowmarket first thing in the morning. I know they do not have an experienced reptile vet but they do have a couple of vets that are interested in reptiles and do keep some themselves so fingers crossed. If I go to stowmarket vets I can walk there it will only take me 45 minutes. Do you think Cindy will be ok in a pillowcase in a large handbag for the journey. I can put a hotwater bottle under her with just warm water in it so she don't get to cold. |

I really hope someone can help you out. As it's Sunday and most Vets are closed maybe give the guy in Suffolk Reptiles a ring? He's a breeder and may have some experience of this sort of problem? I'm in Ipswich and our local Vet do have exotics in their adverts (Highcliff), so maybe ring them in the morning to see if they deal with reptiles. If you need to get her to Ipswich I'll gladly give you a lift, I'm only a half hour away. |
