so my corn is about 8 months old and has 2 pinkies once a week, just wandering how i know when it is time to move up to fuzzies, my reptile store said to see if will take 4 pinkies in one feed then move to fuzzies, would you agree? |

a2c7- thatg good then i was rather worried as she still looks so tiny and the fuzzy looked to big, but she just took straight away, she doesnt strike tho anymore (did first few feeds) now she just gently opens her mouth.
Thankyou Dakymad2 i think the fuzzy only jiust 1.5 times her size but think it looks bigger than is anyway compared to size of pinkies. Yeash i imagin moving up a size always going to be worrying think ill stick with fuzzies for a while :)

Glad it went well ,having fed double pinkies things seem to of progressed well, just moved two of mine up to small mice and it was just as worrying , so be prepared. Judge the snakes width to the size of the mouse and as long as the food item is not more than 1.5 times the width snake should have no problem. |

rubi - Ara is the same age and has had 3 fluff feeds now, he gets quicker every time. Sounds like you've done the right thing. |

yeah she was taking so slow and fizzy looked so big thought was gunna choke on it..guess just so used to her wolfing down the small pinkies :) |

thank you for this, i gave her a fuzzy today for the first time and took straight away, although she took some time to swallow it and the bump looked so big after. |

If she's been on 2 pinks for 4 months she should certainly manage a fuzzy - I also only had Corno on double pinks for about 3 weeks before moving up. Usually a fuzzy isn't as much as 2 pinks! |

I only fed my Lilith 2 pinkies for 2 weeks (basically til I ran out of pinkies). Best to buy a selection of fuzzies and feed them the smallest and work your way up in size of fuzzy each week. |

ok thankyou, i hvae heard of snakes choking as have been given to bigger prey items but wasnt sure if true or just a myth i will pick up couple of fuzzies and see how she gets on. |

if she's been on pinks for four months she should be fine, if it's too big she would most likely attempt to eat it and spit it out. |

ok thank you ( i thought was alot which whjy not tried it yet..just what the reptile shop said to do :S) she has been happily taking 2 pinkies for about 4 months i will try her on a fuzzie, if its to big will she just leave it? |

you wouldn't want to feed 4 prey items at one time thats a bit excessive, generaly if they can take two pinks they will manage a fluff, |

ok thankyou i dont think its thsat bigger bump got to get some food you see and dont want to buy one in when need the other..shes about a cm wide now |

If it can take two fuzzies and there is minimal bump in its tummy from the feed then a fuzzy will be fine.
General rule for feeding is the feed item should be no bigger than 1.5x the thickness if the thickest part of the snake (near its tummy). |
