Hi guys. I just got 2 corn snakes. Brothers and 2 years old each.
I set up the terrarium etc etc. Both of the snakes share the same space. Now i am afraid that they can fight witch each other (after reading several stuffs online). Well, they lived this 2 years togheter with all of his brothers (around 9) and they never fight or try to eat each other. So, how paranoic am i? Should i remove one snake from the terrarium?
Also my other question is aobut handle my snakes. They feed on a live prey last sunday. Placed they in the new home and since then they just hide in the hiding cave and sometimes they walk around (when nobody is close). I want to clean the terrarium and also pet they a litle. Can i grab they on the hiding cave? or should i wait they to come outside and then grab they? Anyway, i need to feed they on sunday, if they are hiding can i still grab they?

i think live feeding is only necessary when the life of the snake depends on it, i had to try my hatchling last yr on a live pinki but didnt take it. now a year later after a lot of trouble with her she stikes at all her feeds and is now bigger than her sister.
i normally leave them 3 days after to handle them (when they have pooed aswell) lol :)

I am dead against feeding live as the last thing i would want is for the mice to injure my pet.
Also my snake spies on me too :-) |

Thank you guys.
The guy who sold me the snake came here today and he handle the snake for me. They were hiden in a tree lol. They have pooped already and i cant see the food anymore lol.
For the moment ill keep they both in the same terrarium. I have enough spae and they have separated homes :P
one of the snakes was very excited when i was petting. Exploring my arm for over 10min. Then i put it back and she went back to the hole but now she is kind of "spying" me everytime i walk in the room.

You will get conflicting stories on keeping snakes together. Rather than debate it here, have a look at the topic below and make your own choice.

Feeding live prey is also a hotly argued point. It would be better to try and get on to frozen/defrosted mice. Live mice can fight back and cause injury to the snakes.
For handling, leave the snakes alone for a week to settle in. You can miss the feed on Sunday, it won't do any harm. Just s[pot clean and change the drinking water. Don't 'grab' the snakes. Instead you should 'scoop' them up and support from underneath. It is OK to lift out the hide if they are hiding. Start with short 5 minute handling sessions and increase the time as you and the snakes gain confidence. |

You need to leave them be for a week. Feed again on sunday and handle maybe wednesday evening, if they are in a hide just make some noise so they know you are there and with confidence pick them up. They will soon settle once out x |
