Hi People,
i am looking at all the stuff i need to get set up and i was just woundering when you do the 4 week clean out do you have to use the special reptile disinfectants the sell or can you just se water etc and that will do? also when you put ur snake back in after the big clean does this mean the 7 day rule starts all over again? i.e. no feeding or holding?

We use viv clean by prorep, cost us like £2 from surreypets - it's good for getting stuck on wee and poo off the viv. Sometimes we boil stuff and occasionally bleach stuff and rinse it well afterwards. |

I have used Beaphar reptile safe products for five years now with no problems, you can get this from most reptile or pet shops. |

I use Ark-Klens by vetark, spray on leave one minute and wipe off, no rinsing  |

I've got the same one as Hissy from my local pet shop - Beaphar make various ones, so just make sure you get the reptile one :) |

You can buy reptile safe disinfectant from most pet shops. I bought one from Pets at Home called 'Baephar Deep Clean' that's safe for reptiles |

DO NOT use any Dettol disinfectant product with reptiles.
I have already contacted Dettol Customer Support and it is a NO-NO.
Stick to approved such as the F10 range.
Hides can be treated with 10% household bleach as long as they are properly rinsed and allowed to dry. |

I use keep it clean with a beardie and bird on the front of it from sainsburys. |

I use F10 super concentrate, I bought a 100ml bottle well over a year ago, you only need a small drop in a 500ml spray bottle, I use it everyday and thiers still half left. |

i am going to get the monkfield Terranium but wasn't sure if normal dettol would harm the snake or not?

Dont forget to rinse thorougly ! |
