Posted - 13/06/2012 : 20:40:15 our female was only just 'of weight' when we found out she was gravid and we only realised when she turned down her meal!
its been 2 months since then but she just doesn't seem to be regaining weight? she seems happy enough, miandering about daily, but shes feels a bit weak when i handle her
how often should i feed her? at mo she is happily taking a full grown mouse once a week no regurges and pooing fine
how long can i expect it to take for her to come back to full size? should i up her feeds?
Thanks ashby_steve |

Posted - 14/06/2012 : 00:47:39 Basically we brought her about 3 months before she became gravid and she wasn't underweight but she could have been a bit bigger she was about 305 grams but because we didnt know she was gravid untill she stopped eating we didn't up her feeds like you should |

Posted - 14/06/2012 : 00:26:55 Was she over 300 g before she went with the male. Coz u say she was barely the right weight to breed but was that with the weight of the eggs inside her aswell |

Posted - 14/06/2012 : 00:12:02 my girly laid on may 19th and i've been feeding her every five days since then to get her weight up- cos first off her meals were mucvh smaller than normal, as she's now getting back into eating larger mice I've started leaving her 6 then 7 days between feeds, gradually stretching it back out to usual 10 days-
i weighed her a bit ago and she's back at where she was before she strated building egg follicles-
praps try slightly smaller but more often? seems to have worked for darlingdebbie |

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 23:58:30 I didn't, i read that the first few feeds they retain most of what they eat for rapid weight gain so i expected she'd be fine
ill pick up some weener rats tomorrow n see what happens any idea how long it will take for her to regain some weight? |

Posted - 13/06/2012 : 20:45:30 just weighed her and she is only at 235 grams! my male who is only one year older and same length is 385, thats 150 more!
structually they look like they should be about the same size (head size and length etc) |
