She escaped from her vivarium 9 months ago but was found in next
door garden just 2-3 weeks ago, looking in remarkably good condition in spite of fending for herself all through the winter and our terrible
spring.
She has shed and is feeding well but seems very restless all the time.
I am worried that she was possibly happier in the outside world and
feeling rather guilty that I have 'imprisoned' her again.
Should appreciate any comments re this situation.

One of my hatchlings a few years back had escaped. Couldn't find him anywhere. We had a big freeze and so i assumed he had died. A year later i found him near my sisters car in the drive basking in the sun. He was a little underweight but was fine. I called him Houdini, then he escaped again and i haven't found him since.

I think he survived on spiders and crickets that had escaped from the lizard enclosures

The permanently imprisoned ones are also doing this at the moment, a cross between the heat and the desire to find other snakes to roll about with.
