Having read on this forum the general guide is:

1 Pinkie (2-3g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 4-15g)
2 Pinkies (3-4g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 16-23g)
Small Fuzzy (5-7g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 24-30g)
Fuzzy (7-9g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 30-50g)
Fluff/Hoppers (9-12g) every 6-7 days (Snake = 51-90g)
Small Adult/Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
Adult (20-30g) every 7-10 days (Snake = 170+)

Just wondering how true to life this is as with these guidelines my Willow should be on double pinkies as she is 20g and im worried ive been under feeding her.

She does seem hungry when i feed her as the pinkie is gone within seconds of her striking it.

I would say that was still noticable, there's no need to rush upping their feeds x

As mentioned on fb I'd leave a few more feeds til the bump can barely been seen

she'll be fine on 2 pinkies
Sharks35 Posted - 22/05/2012 : 14:38:28
Just as a quick update check, she shed today and fed, took a quick pic of her after her feed just for conformation...

Would you say its time to move up to 2 x pinkies or should she stay on 1 at the moment.

as soon as she goes onto fluffs she will shoot up :)

If she does regurge them don't panic, wait ten days and then feed her just one pinkie for a couple more weeks then try again

Thanks serena_08, helpful advice

You're welcome

if you feel she can manage 2 pinkies feed her double pinks for a couple of feeds and then get some fuzzies in ready as she'll be ready to move up after a few doubles and they'll be more nutricious for her

Well done Georgina! I been looking through loads of my pics but just getting frustrated as there are so many to go through!
Sharks35 Posted - 15/05/2012 : 22:07:13
right thanks for that, looking at that i think im going to try two pinkies, on her next feed ill stick to usual just to see what shes like but i think its time to move up.

If it turns out its too much for her will she re gurge them?

Imagine ya snake as a cartoon hose pipe where it gets a bulge.

Imagine ya snake as a cartoon hose pipe where it gets a bulge. That's what ya looking for when u feed a bulge about the midway point of its body after u feed. If you can't see or hardly see a bulge its time to review ya feeding.

Anyone happen to have a picture of a fed snakey so i can compare lump sizes?
gmac Posted - 15/05/2012 : 21:51:57
that info at the top is not the general guide, it is just another guide. there are loads out there. I have never nor will i ever weigh any prey items for the snake I just eye everything. so long as it leaves a visible bump after feeding its fine if not its time to mive up a size.
