Posted - 06/05/2012 : 16:55:18 How often does an adult snake normally shed? I acquired a cornsnake a couple of months ago, he is about 4.5 ft long and is apparently 4.5 years old, so I didn't expect him to shed very frequently. However he shed on 2nd April, but now appears to be acting the same again (ie hiding away and has gone pale). It's only been about a month so I didn't think he would be shedding again so soon. I recently changed his tank around (new type of substrate and swapped from heat lamp to mat) do you think this may have something to do with it? Thanks.

Posted - 06/05/2012 : 22:18:56 that does seem quite soon to be sheding again, 8 sheds around once a month but he's still a hatchie. wouldn't have thought the change around in your viv would have brought on a shed. am sure some one more experianced will be able to spead more light on this.
Also is your matt statted and what temp is it running at and what substarte are you now using?
