Posted - 28/04/2012 : 15:48:31 Hey all, just a random one for you. I was visiting a local petshop of mine (where I'm hopefully going to be working for starting June!) and was having a chat with the guys up in the reptile bit when I spotted the Snow Stripe young 'un thats been there for a while shedding (may be a Salmon Snow Stripe, very pink with lovely yellow). Anyway, he was rubbing about, and I noticed a bit of red on his head, and as he continued, it was clear it was bleeding a little bit, and that bit of shed was not coming off. The belly was coming off, but it was stuck on his head and making him bleed a little bit. I got him out and dampened it down with some damp earbuds, and was able to put the bud through behind that one spot, so I had to just pull it off. He shed like lightening in my hand after that, and even pooped on me as thanks. But what got me thinking was the spot on his head. It almost looked like the scale maybe wasn't ready to come off, or even that one hadn't formed underneath, it was a little sore patch on his head, which stopped bleeding that tiny bit once the shed was off. Any ideas as to what that could have been? I'm more curious than anything!
ps: They let me sort him as they've known me for years, good friends with the people there, they're not neglectful in any way! |

Posted - 28/04/2012 : 20:35:49 Yeah, headwounds always look sore, but they do shed out, even if they do sometimes take a bit of time! Took Lister 4 sheds to fully lose her dent in her head xD |

The stuck piece of shed came off after a couple of days after I put her a damp hide in her viv. The spot underneath didn't seem too sore so I just kept an eye on it. She shed perfectly the next time and now you can hardly see where it was.
This was after the shed came off before she had another shed
