Hey just need a bit of advice really.
I have a 6month old corn and have just got a baby corn as a friend has lost their house and can't keep it anymore unfortunately :(
It is around 12 weeks old.
Are they ok to keep together as i have seen places with snakes kept in the same viv? if so at what age should this be done...and is it safe to do? thank you x |

Uploading pics in a new post now on photos bit of forum...
I have 2 new snakes instead of just the one...even though the 2 were housed together originally I am keeping them separate as one is bigger than the other and i wouldn't want to risk it as they grow and i find it easier getting them out also when there is just 1 in each, don't feel as mean having to leave one in etc xx |

If it's a small snake, it would be far safer to keep in a RUB. You would need to quarenteen ideally before even thinking about putting two corns together also :P |

Thank you,, no its fine i shall nip for a new viv its only as i don't like keeping them in the RUB's, I know a lot of people do but for some reason I never feel like it is properly shut and they may escape..(paranoid much?) :)...I didn't think it would have been a good idea anyway but just wanted to check. I think Ice (my snow) would not share her airplane anyway hehe :D

I wouldnt advise it. Anything can happen, cannibalism, premature breeding, which can damage the female snake - or make her eggbound (which can potentially kill her) etc.
There are people on here who do. My personal opinion is not to, unless you know what you are doing and can avoid any problems that can potentially occur.
There are people who say their snakes "cuddle" up together.They aren't cuddling. Its competitiveness for domination, space and heat. There are loads of post about co-habiting corns and the problems that occur. I would suggest reading them.
If you cannot afford a 2nd set up, then realistically you cannot afford a 2nd snake. |

i doubt it should be done, i bet the size differnce is quite a lot, high chance the biggun could decide to eat the little one, get him his own set up x |
