Posted - 22/08/2012 : 16:40:03 Tap water for mine too. Although I have given them bottled water a couple of times when I have had some open. |

Posted - 22/08/2012 : 13:30:32 Mine get the cheapest bottled water I can find, only because I live in a very hard water area, and I'm never organised enough to boil and cool it.
Re: how often, I was away last week and got a neighbour to come in every couple of days to change the water on the snakes and feed the gecko, they were fine, so I would say whilst every day is ideal 2 or 3 days isn't going to do any harm. |

Posted - 22/08/2012 : 13:22:48 Mine are a posh lot and demand chilled Perriere served daily in a crystal chalice.
Good old Scottish tap water is what I actually put in the bottle.
Freddiesmum, 3 days would be OK but if you can arrange a check so much the better. Sometimes the snake will poop in the water dish and it should be cleaned immediately. Makes for easy cleaning of the viv tho. |

Posted - 22/08/2012 : 12:55:44 Freddiesmum, I think it would be safe, but it just might be a bit stale. |

Posted - 22/08/2012 : 12:34:13 Tap. Would be good to know how often everyone changes. I do every day at the moment, however i will be away for 3 days and wondering if it would be ok to leave this long? I'd rather not, will probably get someone to pop in a couple of times to change it. But would it be safe? |

Posted - 22/08/2012 : 12:26:38 Tap for us. We don't have very hard water, not like our old place.
When does everyone change here? Every day? Every few? |

Posted - 23/04/2012 : 01:07:28 for the 1st year i used bottled water (short life span) only, but realised tap water is just as good after a bit of research. some people boil there water 1st, which does get rid of chemicals but shortens the life of the water (not a problem if ur changing every day though, which is good husbandry) |

Posted - 22/04/2012 : 20:08:20 I use tap water too, it's nice to hear so many other people do. a couple of sources told me anything other than bottled would lead to instant snake death but I'd already started her on tap water so it seemed silly to change |
