trying to feed our corn and he isnt taking to the food at all.. wont eat it instead crawlin past is, is their any methods to get him to eat it or just to leave him the now? |

Hi, first feed at home is always stressful for the new owner, as others have given you good advice about leaving him for atleast 5 days before trying again I can't really add much more.
It would probably best to feed in a small tub and just put the defrosted pinkie in with him and leave it quiet, covering tub with a towel is also a good idea.
Eventually your hatchie will get more confident and you will be able to watch the feeding process :) |

Wiggling it at his nose for 20 mins is quite likely to have scared him and stressed him out trying to feed again so soon after will almost certainly stress him more. A snake's prey doesn't normally poke it on the nose requesting to be eaten! Leave him at least a couple of days without any handling at all (I would say wait 5 as that is how often a hatchy would normally be fed - better to wait a bit and be sure he's hungry than keep pestering him with food if he's scared and making the situation worse) to get over his ordeal. Next time, try defrosting the pinky in warm water. Get him out, put him in his feeding tub, pop the pinky in with him still warm and wet, then leave him in peace to find it and size it up on his own. |

a dont nesseraly want to leave him a week without a feed lol hes only a hatchling, a dont feel great about doing that lol |

I would not try again tonight, you would usually leave it until the next feed day to try again but others may have a better suggestion. Try defrosting in warm water as some snakes like them a bit wet and it will be warm through as well. When I get them out of the water I give them a quick roll in kitchen towel so they are not dripping wet and mine love it. |

think it was yeah we had 2 of the mice in a tub and sat it on top of the radioter to defrost.. he seems scared of it 2bh and its quite frustrating cause a dont want him going without his feed :\ |

quite a while about 20 minuites but he just seemed to get more scared and stressed.. we got told he would take it fine, where not sure weither to defrost another mouse and try him with it again or another method by putting him in the small box to try feed him rather than in his viv... what do you think? |

2bh he seems more frightened when we try and give him nose to nose contact he just puts hiself into a ball we then left it in his tank for a hour and left him be, still isnt taking to it, so we had to chuck it out.. |
