I have 2 corns 2heatmats 2 stats 2 digi-thermometers. Both set ups running at between 26-29 during the day. BUT when i get up in the morning they can both of risen to about 30.5 then drop to proper levels. Are the gremlins out at play or what?

They are glued down but i suppose they could be moved a little. Just have to put it down to something beyond normal reasoning. Unless my two are getting out on a night and messing with the stats lol.

another definate possibility :D

are any of the vivs in direct sunlight? first thing in morning more sun might be getting in??? which on the glass could increase the tempreture.... running through anything i can think of

It just seems odd as the temp drops in my house at night. Was thinking it could be a compensation for temp dropping at night.

30.5 shouldnt harm the snake anyway especially for a short amount of time, i think of a night when the house is all closed up there is less opening of doors and windows and such so your room probably gets a little warmer.... in turn the viv will do the same.

They are on the mats themselves. Have checked them with a very expensive and accurate thermo something or other i borrowed from a friend and they were right to within 0.2 degrees so am mystified.

are the thermometers on the mats themselves or slightly above????.
