im new on here nd to keepin snakes so bare with me lol. iv just brought the lucky reptile thermo control thermostat nd iv stuck the probe directly on the heat mat under the substrate (im using small chips so he cnt burrow down onto the bare heat mat)the problem is the temperature on the cool side is 63f ???? iv got the correct temp on the hot side 85f-30c so i dont want to turn up the thermostat up any more as it will get to hot on the hot side???
please help p.s my snake is not in this viv at the moment
thanks

Posted - 18/04/2012 : 17:31:50 Don't worry about the cold end at all - there's no need to get the room warmer as if he's cold he can just move to the heat mat. By the way - he will probably push the chips out of the way precisely so he CAN sit directly on the heat mat - this is no problem as long as your stat probe is also in contact with the mat as it will prevent the mat getting too hot :) |

Posted - 18/04/2012 : 14:45:30 I'm no good at F, but I know Corno's viv is kept between 26-30 C, usually around the 28 mark |

Posted - 18/04/2012 : 14:40:44 ok will do thanks for the advice. 1more thing whats the lowest it can get before i should worry becuase its that temp with a small daylight bulb in the viv witch provides a little bit of heat so it probaly drops a bit lower than that at night
thanks again |
