Hello everyone, Trevor is usually not a shy feeder at all i feed him outside of his viv and he would usually take it almost straight away off the tweezers with a little strike. But last week and tonight he didn't seem that interested, so put the mouse in his viv, last week he ate it overnight, and i just went and checked on him and he now has a nice lump in his belly =] so i'm not that worried because he has actually eaten them. But is it wierd that he usually eats them straight away and now 2 weeks in a row he hasn't? He's my first ever snake and have only had him since christmas so i'm unsure if this is normal behaviour or not.

He is around 8 months old and unsexed although i refer to 'him' as a he.

The mouse is uaully dry and warmed up by a hairdryer, well that's what i thought because he is due a shed soon, but i didn't notice him go blue, and he's usually blue, cleared then shed within about 5 days lol. I'll try a few things next time and see what happens x

I don't pat dry I just just wiggle it over the water to prevent too many drips then pop it straight into Corno's tub! Apparently some people say the fur being wet makes it easier to swallow - but loads of pics on the photo area show clearly dry fur being swallowed no problem lol!! Not sure why he'd suddenly change like that Falice - he's not going into blue is he?

the other option is you can make a slight incision in the head of the mouse - allows for easier smelling.

oh and i believe slightly warmer is best - ie. if you defrost in warm water, pat dry and offer straight away

good luck

I agree leave it a little while and make HIM work for it a little

maybe he's bored with how easy it is. I kind of walk mine around the viv and Candy loves to sneak up on them. Either that or you might be feeding too often for his needs (going into summer n all). maybe leave it a wee bit longer next time and be sure he's ready to feed by reading his behaviour.

just some thoughts - hope it helps

Maybe he's just had second thoughts on the tweezers? I feed mine by holding the fuzzies tail.
