It can but if its and aquarium then the venterlation is very poor, the humidity will by high and sometimes it's hard to keep it down. Don't let this put you off though, many people use them.

Its a fish tank type that i bought from a pet shop but it can be used as a reptile one thanks for the info

if its a plastic RUB or faun then yes it can, it can also be used under glass, but for wooden housing it needs to go inside
