Posted - 11/04/2012 : 01:46:34 Hi there, as my previous posts stated I am all set up for getting my little fella (I already have a name picked out and everything but I'll need to see if it suits him ) although recent reading has me afraid that putting him straight into my VivExotic LX24 would 1.stress him out and 2. Create a higher risk of an escapee! So I looked at faunariums to keep him in for the first 6-10months (till he gets some decent girth) and seen this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0002AR48Y/ref=aw_d_detail?pd=1&qid=1334104220&sr=8-1
Seems like a pretty solid choice, although I'm slightly curious as one review states that the sides are too flexible to house a snake without it escaping.
Does anyone have any experience with this particular box? And if so,would you recommend it fort needs?
Thanks |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 12:53:15 Yep they're fine but the last few months before a viv upgrade I had to leave a heavy book over the lid. Snakey was getting stronger and I was worried! |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 09:50:56 That's what I have kept my young snakes in. There was an incident once of someones snake actually managing to push through the fins of the vented lid but I think that was just one very determined snake. I have never had any problems with them apart from having to make the cable hole bigger in order to be able to push my thermometer probe through |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 09:01:13 Its what my 10month old is currently in. Tho i need to buy her a new home next month. Should be fine. only thin i recommend is blocking the cable holes on the lid with tissue. Mine tried to escape through them a few times when she was smaller. |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 08:35:25 I'd go for the large flat faun every time if I hadn't been given a smaller one with my original setup kit when I bought Corno! |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 08:20:03 I think they are brilliant for hatchling corn snakes. Even had mine in them until they were 14-15 months. The lid sits on nicely and IMO is strong enough to keep a baby corn snake from escaping. They are well vented at the top( IE The lid) I think the sides to a faunarium are strong enough also, I did'nt find them to flex that much. Very easy to clean and I like that they have feet on the corners off the faunarium to allow a slight gap between the faunarium and the heat meat. Dont get me wrong there are far more other ways to raise them but you really cant go wrong with using one of these bit of kit. |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 07:41:56 I have got Sid in one of these and not had any problems. He is always looking to escape and has so far not so I would recommend it. |
