Posted - 20/02/2012 : 16:44:14 I know its normal for snakes to not shed as often when they get older. My adult male only shed every 3-4 months for example but is it normal for youngsters to slow down shedding at quite a young age. My two 18 month olds are very slow at shedding now. Here are some details
Keith CB Aug 10, feeds every 14 days on a 20g mouse he weighs 320g and measures 3' 6". LAST SHED 29 october 2011
Frank CB Aug 10, feeds every 14 days on a 20g mouse he weighs 305g and measures 3' 8". LASDT SHED 23 november 2011
My two 16 month olds are shedding every 2 months
John CB Oct 10, feeds on a 10-12g mouse every 7 days, weighs 152g approx 2' 4"
Kevin CB Oct 10, feeds on a 12g mouse every 7 days weighs, 186g approx 2' 7"
Am I worrying about nothing? Am I not feeding them enough? They gain weight regularly and do not look underweight.

Posted - 20/02/2012 : 18:25:58 It concerned me because I feel that nearly 4 months between shedding for an 18 month olds seems long. When we bought Sid he was already adult but was still shedding every month and its only been the last 9-12 months that his shedding has slowed down. I know all snakes are different it just concerns me. Thanks.

My 7 month old hatches shed every month and a half, and the 3 year old male every 3-5 months.
