Posted - 19/01/2012 : 11:39:08 Hi,
I know why they shed, how they shed, how they act when they shed & how often they shed but... Why do they hide away a lot & hardly move when in shed?
Last time Cornelius shed, 26/11/11, he didn't hide away at all & acted as normal. This time, he's taking longer to shed & we've hardly seen him. His eyes went opaque for 5 days last wk & cleared up on 16/01.
So, why do they act like they do in shed & do they act differently with each shed?
Thanks v much!! |

Posted - 21/01/2012 : 15:53:03 Cornelius shed at last yesterday! Feels like we waited ages for it to happen! It was a complete shed & he's shiny & new again.
He did it whilst I was upstairs cleaning....knew I shouldn't have been cleaning!! Any excuse... |

Posted - 20/01/2012 : 11:23:52 I tried feeding mine when in blue once. She didn't take it. So I just wait and feed her once she's shed. They can cope. Saves hassling her while she's hiding. |

We fed Cornelius 2 pinkies last night for 1st time & he took them both no probs. He now weighs 17g.
Still not shed yet & curled up behind his warm hide. |

Posted - 19/01/2012 : 11:42:44 Thx Scaly, yep I thought that but why do they then carry on hiding away when their eyes have cleared? |

Posted - 19/01/2012 : 11:41:26 they shy away cos when their eyes are cloudy they are virtually blind |
