Hi,

I know why they shed, how they shed, how they act when they shed & how often they shed but... Why do they hide away a lot & hardly move when in shed?

Last time Cornelius shed, 26/11/11, he didn't hide away at all & acted as normal. This time, he's taking longer to shed & we've hardly seen him. His eyes went opaque for 5 days last wk & cleared up on 16/01.

So, why do they act like they do in shed & do they act differently with each shed?

Thanks v much!!

Cornelius shed at last yesterday! Feels like we waited ages for it to happen! It was a complete shed & he's shiny & new again.

He did it whilst I was upstairs cleaning....knew I shouldn't have been cleaning!! Any excuse...

I tried feeding mine when in blue once. She didn't take it. So I just wait and feed her once she's shed. They can cope. Saves hassling her while she's hiding.

lol, just looked at link!

We fed Cornelius 2 pinkies last night for 1st time & he took them both no probs. He now weighs 17g.

Still not shed yet & curled up behind his warm hide.

I wish he'd hurry up & shed!!

We're gonna feed him tonight, hopefully he'll take his food. Trying him on 2 pinkies for 1st time too so fingers crossed it'll go ok!

i guess its cos they still feel pretty vulnerable
Kath Posted - 19/01/2012 : 11:42:44
Thx Scaly, yep I thought that but why do they then carry on hiding away when their eyes have cleared?
ScalySituation Posted - 19/01/2012 : 11:41:26
they shy away cos when their eyes are cloudy they are virtually blind
