My male corn snake is two years old and is two and a half foot,
problem is that he wont eat anything but pinkies and normally only eats one pinkie once every 2-3 months,
is there something wrong with him?

Oh i will be doing :) just glad hes okay been worried sick about him hopefully he will start eating more often and bigger prey :) thanks everyone

That was enough. Glad its sorted, slowly increase size now to an appropriate prey size for the snake.

I just made sure the fuzzy was quite warm and that the tank was warm that i put him in for feeding... Nothing else different though :)

Glad he ate the fuzzy!
lotabob Posted - 13/11/2011 : 18:44:35
Thats good. How did you get it to eat something bigger? Was it just a change in approach to feeding thats done it?

Good to hear

Good news.... He is eating a fuzzy! Yayyyy <3
gingerpony Posted - 02/11/2011 : 14:00:57
move him up to fuzzies asap, multiple per feed if he will
also check your husbandry as there's something seriously wrong if a 2 year old snake is only eating a pinkie every 8-12 weeks

Oh well do you think mines okay then even though he is older than yours? I'm just going to keep trying him with food and try get big pinkies or rat pups and see what he thinks to that are there any other methods I can try to get him to eat? I've tried popping a hole in the head and he smelt it but then wasn't interested after that...

my female is just over a year and she's almost 2 half feet in length, just over 100g and has been taking small mice now for the last month at least
Lala94 Posted - 01/11/2011 : 22:41:09
Got confused then lol, meant to put he looks on the smaller side - but as this is my first corn snake i dont know what size they are meant to be....
Lala94 Posted - 01/11/2011 : 22:37:02
Yeah i think mines on the small side as well... He has ate one fuzzy before but after that he wont go near another one... He didnt regurgitate it or anything and no i havent, are they in between pinkies and fuzzies? May have to try and get some of them... Im probably just being over paranoid coz hes active and sheds regularly...
lotabob Posted - 01/11/2011 : 22:30:50
2 years old and only 100grams is on the smaller end of the scale but if its only eating pinkies then its not a surprise, I'm sure its perfectly healthy just small. Have you tried rat pups?
Lala94 Posted - 01/11/2011 : 22:10:36
How old and how long is she?
tordyjo Posted - 01/11/2011 : 22:02:10

Lala94 Posted - 01/11/2011 : 20:19:46
yeah pinkies... sometimes two... he seemed to eat more though when he was younger...
Mamma Posted - 01/11/2011 : 20:18:23
Is that what they were feeding him when they had him in their care?
Lala94 Posted - 01/11/2011 : 20:13:02
i have never weighed him but took him to the reptile shop where i got him from about 6months ago and she sed he looks the right weight and he is active enough... i thought he should be eating bigger food than that as well but hes just not interested in it...
