Just a quick question. Once you have put substrate down for your snake & they have been in their fauna for a while, would it be ok to change the substrate or be best for the snake to keep using the same substrate? ie from forest bark to shredded paper. (We have forest bark now that we got with our start-up set from the shop but we weren't aware that you could use paper).
Thanks. |

Posted - 20/10/2011 : 14:33:32 I changed my snake across from Beech chips to Aubiose (like aspen)...he seemed fairly happy to be moved across - i certainly didn't notice him being any more nervous/shy than usual - and he seems to enjoying pushing it around the place a whole lot more.
If i remember rightly, i actually moved him across to the different substrate just before i was going away for a weekend, so he had a few days to get used to it before I handled him again - I don't know whether this made a difference but certainly doesn't seem a bad thing. |
