Posted - 04/10/2011 : 09:58:37 Hi all. Just wondering when we do start handling our new snake how often should you get them out. The guy I bought him from says he had him out morning and night, but did not say how long for. Letting him settle in for a few days first and then dont really know how long to have him out and for how long each time. Thanks Terry. |

Posted - 05/10/2011 : 06:38:08 i handle mine every day for 10 - 15 minutes. my snake likes the cold end of his rub so when i pick him up he's told but soon warms up from my body heat |

Posted - 04/10/2011 : 11:07:15 give the new addition about a week to settle in. Some people habdle their snakes daily, some not as often and some hardly at all. I handle my snakes maybe twice a week, except digestion times. (This is not including cleaning/feeding) |

Posted - 04/10/2011 : 11:07:12 Thanks guys.Had him out twice just because he came out looking when I changed his water but this was only for a minute or two at most. Its so hard to not get him out. But need to do whats best for him. But roll on the weekend. |

Posted - 04/10/2011 : 10:53:43 It would be best to give your little guy a full week to settle in, it will help him learn all the new smells/sights etc...other than that, i would agree with Simmy |

Posted - 04/10/2011 : 10:00:33 How old is you snake.
I get my 3month old out for around 10-15mins a day. Mainly because i read somewhere they lose their body heat quicker. Adults i guess you can handle for a bit longer.
EDIT: Except for the 48hrs after feeding of course |
