Alright Dudes,
I've read a few times about upping the feed on young corns to 2 pinkies per feed. I'm just curious about what point you would do this?

Essfer's last shed was 50cm long (far too mobile to measure his body) and grew from 45cm his previous shed a month prior. His girth has expanded a fair deal also, probably about 1.5-2mm in diameter in the same amount of time, maybe a wee bit less.

His last pinkie was devoured with gusto and down in a blink.

He's now approximately 4 months old.

Am I jumping the gun a bit? I really don't want to over or under feed my little snakey as I've grown quite attached and want him to be happy.

Thanks

When mine stop gaining weight I increased to two pinkies, I use scales that weigh by the gram so I always know their weight exactly. There should be a steady increase certainly on a monthly basis.

Hmm, I think I'll wait a wee bit. There was still a discernible lump after his last feed, though it may have been because I was following it down.

Thanks for the advice peoples :)

Also, does anyone have a picture of a pinkie next to a fuzzie, just so I know what sort of size fuzzies are? Thanks

This forum is fantastic! Exactly what I was wanting an answer to.

Cheers.

garrie is right. If theres not much of a visable bump on your snake after feeding 1 pinkie then feed 2. Only move up a size if the food is roughly 1.5x the size of the thickest part of your snake

Hey, the best thing would be to do the "is the bump still visible" test...if it is hardly noticable then i would feed two for a couple of weeks (perhaps until your stock runs out?) and then move up a size. Essfer should be just fine
