Posted - 17/09/2011 : 09:29:12 well little Maple has been with us for a week x Have left her alone and decided to give her a feed last night x Defrosted a tiny pinky but she seemed completely freaked out by it and I didn't even wiggle it !!. I just left her in the cricket tub with it overnight to see if she needed dark and quiet but no it was still there this am !. Now I'm worrying I've been given a bad feeder passed off as a good one !!. She is very diddy only 8/9 inches long and was told she was 4 weeks when I bought her So am now wondering if she has ever fed? could this be possible ? She did do a poo second day with me so am assuming she must have had something in her system !. I thought normals generally weren't problem feeders? Ohpoop! So should I leave her another week untouched and try again or 5 or 6 days????????? Please help !!!! x |

Posted - 17/09/2011 : 12:52:03 I wouldn't worry too much as it is only her first feed. I would leave her alone though, just carry on with water changes every couple of days but no handling. I know it's frustrating but she could just need more time to settle in. Try her again in 5 days but try braining it and leaving it overnight. Any snake can be a problem feeder but most do come round with time.
Where did you get her from? Can you contact the seller to see if they have feeding records for her and also find out how they fed her (drop feed, left overnight, brained, scented, fresh killed etc) |
