Hi guys, just thought I say my hatchling had her 1st feed tonight!! After a little tail rattling while trying to get her out,put her in the rub with pinkie and within 2 mins she was on it and gobbling it down!!!! Very chuffed indeed! She's back in the warm hide now, cosy I hope. But back to the rattling business, is this a normal thing for hatchlings to do?

Nice! It is quite exciting to see them feed for the first time, it nebver gets old!
As for the tail rattling, just remember to let her/him get used to its surroundings, as well as you.
Also, @shaunb: Hey, my snake used to have the name "Apophis" as well. I renamed her though. Funny thing is, they are both the same color.

yep the more u handle them the better they get ur lucky she ain't trying to tag u as well,
i went to see my new baby on sunday that i will be getting and he was trying to strike me all the time and his little tail was going like the clappers.

It's normal and is her showing that she's not too happy. Just a reaction to feeling threatened. As she grows and gets used to you and being handled she will calm down.
