where exactly should the probes for my thermostat and thermometer be placed?
i'm a bit confused because some people say to have them touching the floor of the enclosure where others say to have them just under the surface of the substrate.
i have a plastic faunarium and the heat mat is located underneath it with a 1/2 inch gap for air flow.

please help :)

for the rubs i use the mats are directly below with the probes on the mat under the rub. The fauns we use are the same mats dirctly below faun with the stat probe on the mat but the thermometer probe in the faun on the base.
