Just as well I did! Went upstairs to move him in and the hot end was at 42!! Turns out I'd plugged the stat back in to itself and the heat mat straight in to the mains. That wasn't even direct heat 'cause the mat is under the RUB and the temp probe is inside. Very scary just how fast mats can heat up if they're unstatted.
Totally different subject, moved him up to fuzzies 3 weeks ago, decided that I should move him up a house size 'cause he was starting to grow, and he's only 3 inches off the length + width of the RUB! Can't believe how much he's grown in 3 weeks. He's in blue right now and I fully expect him to do a butterfly impression when this skin goes and grow another couple of inches. He'd better shed soon or it'll just split around him like a cartoon |

the very reason why we all say mats must be stated, you obviously did the right thing but mistaking the plugs which is easy to do, just think if the poor snake was in, although wouldn't have suffered burns if the mat isn't in the RUB although its been known for a hot mat to burn and melt the plastic of the RUB.
don't forget pics when omari is all shiny and new |
