Well its only taken 1 week but she has finally shed!

Was trying to shift kiddies to bed when i noticed she was out and about and it wasnt her normal time for getting out. Went and put a child to bed and looked in on her, she was nearly completely shed!

It was a good shed, can see where her wee eyes were and got tail tip too! i am so proud of her!

Here is a piccy of her shed.

Thanks Aegis. He was due for a feed last Sunday and I noticed he'd gone into blue. I did offer him a pinkie, but he wasn't interested, so thought best to leave him be.

He spent the night curled up on one of his new plants and he did this when I first got him too, so I suspect he's a little insecure at the moment again. Will keep an eye on him over the next few days.

I would say just give it a couple of days. When was he last fed?! Snakes can go a long time without food so im sure he isnt too bothered. x

I noticed that Fluffy was unusually up and about yesterday during the day and then he did a big yawn then started to rub his face round his log. I grabbed the video camera but I don't think I had enough light, so no idea if it is any good. Well, he didn't manage to shed in one piece, but he did it in 2 and I was very careful to check that he had completely shed and he has so I'm well chuffed.

He's a bit unsettled again at the moment and doesn't seem to be interested in food just now, even though he is due a feed. Could anyone give me a bit of advice as to when I should offer him a meal?

fab that she's shed, i would deduct approx 10% of the shed length and then it will only be an approximation but nearer to there actual length so 54" shed - 10% = approx 50" if my maths is correct

Its depends how far she pulled it round stuff but its not an accurate way to measure a snake as their skin is stretchy.

How stretched is their shed?! Cos i just measured it and its 54" or 4.5ft! Surely she aint that long....

Fantastic. I can remember my excitement when my first shed. I'm glad it went so well for you

Yeah it was perfect, looked over it several times to make sure it was all there then checked her and no retained shed at all :D Very proud mummy right now :)
