Just had a thought. So corn snakes need no extra light, other than normal daylight hours. Here's the issue, i do a week of nights twice every 5wks, my snake is in my bedroom at the min so that we know that the kids wont assist in any escape act. My room has black out blinds so will be in darkness from about 9pm till 3pm the following day. Is this gonna mess up the snakes body block?

well it wont be pitch black in there just dark enough for me to sleep and i would open the blinds up as soon as i got up around 3pm then be open till the Mrs goes to bed about 9/10pm.

potentially yes...........a very good reason for using artificial lighting in a viv
though i'm guessing it's not dark 24 hours a day in the room through the summer? and there are more triggers as well as daylight hours that indicate seasons
