Posted - 24/07/2011 : 18:59:12 Savanna is still quite defensive. Just read one post which made me think...(dangerous i know)
She is currently in a large exo terra faunarium. Temps are 29 at hot end. On aspen as substrate. She has 3 hides one at hot end, one at mid way and one down cool end. Water bowl down cool end. I also cover the top windows of the faun wiv a pillow case to limit disturbing her.
My question is...the exo faun she is in comes with a devider screen. Do you think putting in the devider could help her feel a bit more cosy and secure..... She was last measured at 16" 5 weeks ago
Any thoughts.... |

Posted - 25/07/2011 : 14:57:55 im hoping it is just a case of small snake disorder and as she grows she will calm down. She is active, not shy(currently hiding behind her hide in the open, rather than in it) but very feisty. Its a difficult one to call as her normal behaviour is not one of insecurity....just when i go anywhere near the faun to change water etc. She goes on the defensive....
I have just bought some thin cotton gloves. Will try carrying them round on my person for a few days and putting them in the faun. See if that makes any dif.

Posted - 24/07/2011 : 21:29:58 Thanks GP. It made a little difference covering the top windows but still not enough. So will see how she goes wiv your suggestions.

Posted - 24/07/2011 : 21:14:46 i'd definitely cover 3 sides of the faun........the only reason i don't with RUBS is because they're all in a stack - effectively enclosing them apart from the front aspect
using the divider and keeping her in the largest section prolly wouldn't hurt either but may be unneccessary if the above ^^ resolves the problem |

Posted - 24/07/2011 : 20:49:33 Will try and cover the open sides of the faun wiv something. Then if she is still on edge after a week or so may be try putting in the devider. And try to find a quieter room for her/him/it....(could only be a female wiv her pmt lol)
Thanks guys |

Posted - 24/07/2011 : 19:35:53 her faun is on a shelving unit in lounge within an alcove. Two sides of the faun are directly next to the wall. Front is exposed(obviously) but her faun is next to the other faun with Indiana in. Her hot end is adjacent to the other faun but that is where she spends 90% of her time. |

Posted - 24/07/2011 : 19:26:52 dimentions are 17" long, 12" wide and 6" high. I have not but am thinking of a doing that also and maybe moving her in to a quieter room. It wasnt such an issue but now the kids on school hols that will only make the problem worse.
