Hi there,
I have read lots n this subject and still a little wary.
I have started putting my pinkie in a seperate little tank and then introduce the snake in the tank and neither snake has a problem taking the pinkie, but then at what point do you take the snake back out and place it back in its own viv.
I waited till the pinkie was roughly half way down the snake and then pick it up and placed it in its own viv, but it seemed very spooked, I suppose i am affraid that i maybe stressing it out. dont want it to start regurgetating its food.
Will they be ok.
Please, your thoughts on this.

My Corn generally tells me when he is ready to go back...he has a separate feeding tank and once he has eaten/is comfortable, he starts moving about looking for an escape. |

we feed the ones on aspen outside of their viv they are left for around 15 - 30 mins after they have finished (depends on the snake really)
The ones who are on newspaper or paper towel get fed in their vivs tho :) |

Thanks for the reply. I am going to try leaving it a while before picking it up.
dont really want to feed him in his viv, want to keep that seperate. But thanks for all who replied.

if i'm feeding out of the encosure i usually wait about 10 mins for them to work their meal down to their stomach and come down from feeding mode
moving them so soon can make then feel threatened as feeding is a vulnerable time for them |

I wait till it stops moving downwards, then loop up the tailbase and just below the neck. Never had an issue, but mine never stay in feeding mode after dinner. |

With my small snakes I tend to leave them about 5 mins after eating before gently lifting back into their rubs.
With the larger ones it can be 30 mins or so before they go back sometimes, depending on how they are after eating. Although if they are still in feeding mode, it's easy to just tilt the feeding tub into their faun/viv. |

From what I have read it seems to be okay to carefully pick the snake up to put it back in the viv so long as you avoid the mouse-bump.
I feed mine in his viv though, I put down a sheet of kitchen roll in the front corner by the door and leave his mice on there for him to take at his lesure, he just slithers up to them and calmyly swallows them down one by one on the roll.
He will strike at them but not constrict them and drag them all over the place if I feed him with tongs, but every snake is different..
If your worried maybe try leaving his grub on a sheet of kitchen roll in the viv |
