Posted - 14/07/2011 : 03:29:14 My corn snake recently shed his skin a couple of days ago, so now he's obviously a bit larger. The shed skin (which I assume also to be his original size but correct me if I'm wrong) measured about 17 inches. I haven't had a chance to properly measure him yet, but either he's around 21 inches or still at 17. Anyways, I fed him the day after his shed as he seemed to be looking for food (which he actually took with great interest when I showed it to him). It's been 2 days already, and usually he never got really active again until a few more days. Besides that, he keeps returning to the same spot where I usually place the rodent inside his viv. So, should I start feeding him 2 pinkies now or keep it at one? |

Posted - 14/07/2011 : 10:50:08 My corn is about the same size and today will be her third feed on two pinkies.. So I'd say that giving him two wouldn't do him any harm at all. But I'd definitely leave it more than a few feeds before trying fuzzies as he'll probably still be to skinny for them... |

Posted - 14/07/2011 : 04:41:38 shed skin stretches by approx 10%, wait until his next feed is due and offer 2 if you think he can manage 2 but at 21 inches i woul think he could and would probably not long be ready for fuzzies, see if he takes the 2nd give him a couple of feeds of 2 and if he manages try him with a fuzzie |
