Posted - 14/06/2011 : 18:49:49 how many heat mats can you feasibly run off of one stat ? assuming each heat mat has a thermometer as well as the ones in the enclosure, also how would you use more than one ? is it just with a extension lead ? |

Posted - 14/06/2011 : 21:10:25 i run several mats off one stat with no probs, but yes if a mat that doesn't have the stat probe on it has a problem then it won't prompt the stat to click off |

Posted - 14/06/2011 : 19:05:13 most stats will have a max wattage so if its 100 watts (which some are) and you have a 10 watt mat then 10 mats though I'd go for 9 and not run it so close to the edge.
Another thing is only one stat probe means any other mats are still suseptible to failure and overheating. I know lots would run more than one mat per stat, I'm not one of them. |
