how many heat mats can you feasibly run off of one stat ? assuming each heat mat has a thermometer as well as the ones in the enclosure, also how would you use more than one ? is it just with a extension lead ?

i run several mats off one stat with no probs, but yes if a mat that doesn't have the stat probe on it has a problem then it won't prompt the stat to click off

was weighing up the risks myself, with prices at the moment might be easier just to grab another stat, thanks

most stats will have a max wattage so if its 100 watts (which some are) and you have a 10 watt mat then 10 mats though I'd go for 9 and not run it so close to the edge.

Another thing is only one stat probe means any other mats are still suseptible to failure and overheating. I know lots would run more than one mat per stat, I'm not one of them.
