... is it normally black? Coz Buster has got more of a grey one so am wondering if he's about to launch into shed mode. Can't remember what it was like when I got him a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah it's your sticky made me wonder Louise.

Just I can't remember if his checkers were black or grey to begin with. They're not particularly 'milky' but def not black either.

I find it's not always easy to spot when my Carolina is pre-shed but his belly gives the clearest indication. The checkers go kind of bluey-grey. I don't always notice his eyes change colour.

A milky belly is a good sign a shed is imminent.
