after goin into total panic ova my first corn derek im happy to say everything is well and truly on track, lots of messing with the stat and heat mat finally got temp working well at 29-30c and derek is most definitly enjoyin his home, now moves from side to side and finished tonight curled up on my shoulder in front of xbox lol so id like to say a huge thank you to everyone on here who gave me great advice and reassurance, i will defo be a regular on this site THANK YOU

mines just far too chilled during snake time today he ended up curling up on my head in my hair and refusing to move ? strange lil fellow haha, mine has definitly musked on me then i thought it smelt a lil iffy the first time i handled

you dont really hear it unless it is hitting off of things in the viv/RUB, but you can see it Musking is when the snake lets other animals/predators know he/she is there... releases pheremones from its back end which often stink.

great news :) whats Musking?? how do we know if she/he is rattling tail, does it make a noise??, Cilla is 4 months old and is so active she sits for about 2 mins then off again :)

I had to do this with Mim. She was constantly rattling her tail at me and musking everytime I went to handle her. But it has paid off as since then she no longer rattles her tail and the musking has stopped. (Although, knowing my luck, me typing this now will ultimately mean that she will start it all up again hahahaha.)

its not so much them getting used to it but you showing them whos boss. if u put them away every time they play up etc then they know thats all they have to do everytime there out.

great news. i wish i could get mine to sit still for one minute when there out, marmalade well she drives me crazy when shes out soo restless an nosey. if at anytime yours starts to get restless an dart about as if to say put me back dont feel under pressure to do it u need to show him whos in control
