how soon after they start to rub thier noses on everything they pass do they start to properly shed? Matilda has started to head butt an do a cat like secent marking motion on front glass like shes frantic to get out. I think its more of a shedding thing then a wanting to get out thing. Shes burrowing too. become very active like hunting around her viv for about an hour an half before she started doing this rubbing thing. all this behaviour i have never seen before but i have only had her a week so im guessing this is normal.

Im not too worred (unless ya tell me i should be) but i have to go to the post office today at some point an really dont want to miss her shedding ive sat an watched her about 2 hours now lol i know it will happen as soon as i leave the room. If ya say this process can take another 24 hours then ill go to the P.O now really fast lol

I dont have a scrap book big enough its over 4 foot long lol think my partner is going to take it into work to show the kids she works with at the nursery, if they let her take it in, hey will have to risk asses it first lol.

Shes in the same viv shes been in for the last 5 years. Cant believe how awake she is today shes been up an active since 10am none stop. nearly 11 hours on the move. incredable difference from the last few days.

What are you going to do with the old skin? Keep a scrap book?

some corns will spend a long time cruising their new enclosure, trying to suss out any weak spots for escape, it's all perfectly normal behaviour

I feel so lucky with my corn ive had her for 6 days now seen her drinking 3 times, seen the full shedding cycle (filmed it) picked her up for the first time this evening with no problems or nervousness. cant wait for feeding day to see how that goes.

Eye caps and tail tip are there.

shes been active all day from about 12 noon. She keeps rubbing on the glass still not sure if this is still related to the shedding thing (all the skin came off (i have examined the old skin) or if she just wants to come out to play. all her temps are ok but shes rubbing on the glass doors and slithering right the way up them so i can see a good 2 foot of her underbelly. Is this normal behaviour an what does it mean? i could provide a video of it if ya wanna see first hand?

Lots of our members have never seen their snakes shed so you're one of the lucky ones. I've seen mine shed and I think it's awesome to witness!
Make sure you check for the eyecaps and tip of tail.
