I weighed Rhubarb and Custard this morning and Custard now weighs 235 grams which is an increase of 35 grams since the beginning of January when I got them but Rhubarb went on a fast for 6 weeks and dropped 25 grams so he went down to 175 grams, he has now fed for the last 5 sundays no problem but he will only take small mice where he was on medium mice. I dropped my digital scales so had been using ordinary kitchen scales and thought he was slowly putting the weight back on but now I've got new scales and it seems he hasn't put any on at all he's still at 175 grams so would it be ok to change his feeding routine to every 6 days instead of 7 until he starts to take the medium mice again. |

Posted - 26/03/2011 : 12:25:06 Thanks both. gmac - yes they were different scales I dropped the digi ones down the stairs and the other ones weren't digi and I was reading the markers as 10 grams when in fact they were 25 grams so he hasn't put any weight back on. I suppose I just feel a little bit deflated as I was so happy when he started eating again and it was a big relief when I thought he had started putting the weight back on again. He doesn't look skinny but I can just slightly feel his back bone where as I couldn't when they first arrived. |

Posted - 26/03/2011 : 12:10:29 one day wont really make a difference, personally I would leave it on a 7 day schedule he will put the weight back on. You have used different scales so there may be a calibration error between the 2 sets of scales. |
