Posted - 23/03/2011 : 23:10:24 Omari! Just before we headed out tonight (I run Explorer Scouts) I thought I'd check that he'd kept his food down 'cause it's now 2 days since he ate. Look in the viv, can't see him, so move all the foliage around, still no snake.
Start panicking a bit, take everything out, shake out all the kitchen roll and plants, still no snake. By now I have an empty viv so the panic really sets in. Start going through the pile of clean laundry on the floor, etc etc, look at my watch and realise that I have to go, so put everything back in the viv except the water, close the door and head out.
On the way back (2 hours later), have a sudden brain wave and check the viv again. Photographic evidence below:
Daft ninja snake
Don't worry, the LEDs run cold, checked that when I put them in!
and one very relieved mini-herptologist daughter! |

Posted - 24/03/2011 : 17:30:02 they're really easy to fit, come with a kit Biggest problem is persuasing the lights that they really want to fit through the tiny gap left for cables. Didn't want to cut the cable and joint it, so ended up squashing the lights through the gap. Problem was that the viv is already sealed all the way around the edges with silicone so there was quite a bit of persuading! Might staple-gun them on to the roof as well just to be on the safe side 'cause she will grow and then my cable-tie system will probably give way. |

Posted - 24/03/2011 : 17:06:05 Hmm, hadn't thought of that ... Some day I've nothing better to do I'll take a drill to the viv and fit it all minus the trailing cables. Right now she's a shoelace who enjoys mountaineering and she's in daughters room and she can sleep through anything! Still might go with converting the Expedit bookcases and then I can thread everything wherever I like

Wait when he does that when he's older! The cables will be hanging in the middle of the viv!
Thats true or when they fall off and wake the whole house up with the thud they make.
Yep XD That's why I don't exposed cables :( It was so annoying when my obese corn would sit there on a tiny bit of cable dangling like tarzan then falling off! |
