Hello, I have had my snakey for a few days and I have only seen it a couple of times. It came out after me putting it in it's new home and once at night time. Now I have not seen it I know it has not escaped because I can see it moving a little underneath the Aspen. Do you know why this is and what can be done to get it out and about? The temperature on the warm side is at a 29.6 at the moment is that too hot or is it stressed?

Yeah,he's just settling in. He/she's probably out exploring as soon as your backs turned.

When my unplanned for corn turned up last summer, he rarely emerged. Now he's a lot more adventurous and I've just had to disentangle him from the computer printer.
I hope he wasn't trying the old office party trick of photocopying his bum. 
As everyone has said, he just needs to adjust to his new home. |

Nothing wrong at all. That's what they do. I hardly ever see mine. If I'm lucky they come out in the evenings but most of the time they stay hidden away.
Also if I remember rightly you have it in a 2ft tank? That's why some people prefer to start them off in a smaller enclosure as they feel more secure and are more likey to come out and explore. If he has too much open space he won't want to come out as he will feel insecure. You could try adding more hides and fake plants so he has lots more hiding places. |
