Hi
ive just gotten my first (baby) snake on thursday. Jessie was feed on thursday. she isnt very active and has now hiding under the substrait and sometimes pokes her head out. she came out yesterday and was 'jumpy' when i handled her and i think she was stricking at me. today she is completly hiding in the substrait. i had opened her vivariam to encourage her out but she didnt. when i had to go upstairs i put the lid back on and she hid completly. and no sign of her when i took the lid off again.

is this normal? have i done something wrong? should i get her out from under the substrait and handel her? yesterday when i had dinner she was almost throwing herself towards the sent of the meat. is she hungry? should i feed her early?

having never had a reptile before im feeling a little out of my depth! any advice would be apreciated!

thanks

Marnie

Spot always sets off in the direction of my dog whenever they are around each other, my dog just lays there watching Spot but beats a hasty retreat when the Python is out, luckily the Python has no interest in the dog.

Welcome and congrats on the new snake. Look forward to pictures.

she has come out in the last few mins so im letting her see me but wont try to handle her for a few days. at the moment she seems to be attracted to my dog and is following her.

this is perfectly normal, just change the water and spot clean for the first week or so, it is getting used toits new home and all the attention she is getting from you may be stressing her out a bit. just need some settle time is all.
