Posted - 06/03/2011 : 10:03:26 i was watching python hunters last night, where they has sent hunters into calafornia everglades to recover the pythons that were let loose by a hurricane years ago. through all the season ive been watching all the pythons they have found have been fine and healthy, apart from the ones that have been let loose by owners that cant take care of them anymore, its clear that the ones that have been homed and let loose do not have the same survival skills as the ones that live there as they are the ones that have been found injured. any idiot knows how big pythons grow so why get one if they cannot look after it, letting it loose there is a good chance its going to be killed so how could anyone do that to a pet that they have looked after for years???? (sorry for the rant but it really bothers me) |

Posted - 06/03/2011 : 12:32:21 Its happening all over the world, introducing foreign species into an ecosystem that cant cope with it, either by accident or otherwise. It is incredibly short sighted to not know how big a burmese python gets and how quickly, but you only need to spend 10 minutes on youtube to work out the world is full of idiots.

Posted - 06/03/2011 : 11:35:50 the problem is, not all idiots do know how big pythons get, admittedly the usual train of thought is that all pythons get big, and as such, tend to be very surprised when they find out a royal tends to max out at 5ft. The other train of thought is that people have these snakes, and they dont realise just how quickly they can grow, and how big, big is. The moral is, never under estimate stupidity, and pure ignorance. |
