you can use a hot water bottle to the back of the faun, please just make sure the temps are within acceptable range for corns. Just try to make sure the area where you keep your snake is not too cold.

Other possibility is see if anyone in here is nearby and will let you borrow a stat for a week, or anyone in your area.

mats are contact heaters so will generally only heat up on contact, it may give of a little residual heat if you raise the housing but to be honest it is better to leave it off.

what kind of housing and mat do you have?

its a toughie mate...you know what i would do PERSONALLY but to be fair, gmac has been doing this a lot longer than me and is very good at this stuff. good luck mate.

Ohhh ok then lol XD they should be fine without a mat for a bit depending on how cool your house is. Mine live at the cool end it it reads 21c :)

that is a give away! lol!

fair enough, ignore my comment as i bow to gmacs superior knowledge...

@ gmac is there no way he could raise the viv from the mat to cool it slightly but still provide heat? or move it over so it only heats the very edge of the viv and lets heat transfer do the rest? or tape it to the back of the viv as opposed to the bottom? i just worry he could get far too cold at this time of year...

nope dont turn the mat on at all as you cant regulate it, if you cant get a new stat until next week your corn will just have to do without heat.

Make sure your room where you keep the snake is not cold and kept relatively warm, is the best you can do really.
