Medusa is about a foot long and is 5/6 months and still on pinkies
I've read that people who have snakes who are about 4 months old and smaller than Medusa have theres on fuzzies? We double fed Medusa on two pinkies not long ago and she regurged a few days later, that probably meant that they either didn't agree with them or she couldn't digest them. Even the smaller pinkies leave a 'medium' sized bump on her? Should she be on fuzzies as the couple that I got her from in early November told me after a couple of feeds with me she would be ready to go up to fuzzies but she can't keep down a double feed? I'm probably waffling on about nothing and being confused over nothing but I am confused on what size mouse she should be on!?
I have no idea what her weight is as she never stays still long enough to weigh her! But she is defo not underweight :)
If anyone can give any advice on this if it makes sense...thanks

If double pinkies made her regurge then I'd keep her on pinkies for a bit longer. I assume she's still shedding on a regular basis which tells you she's growing ok. The other thing to try would be to ask in your pet shop if you can choose your own mice next time you buy some and go for the larger pinkies or small fuzzies/fluffs. That way you can upsize her gradually.

1 1/2 times the size of the thickest part of your snake but if you are double feeding pinks it should be ready for small fuzzies but as has been said they all develop at totally different speeds I have a 6 month old cornX thats huge and taking small mice and I have a 6 month old thats still on tiny pinks due to being a slow started they are all very different if in doubt take the snake to the petshop they will advise you on what size it can manage

Hi Sammicat, I'm not very experienced but this is my advice. Don't worry about what other people are doing for a start.

Dexter is 6 months olds, 44cm long, weighs 16g and is on 2 pinkies. I've got some fuzzies but he still isn't thick enough for them (remember food should be no more then 1 1/2 time bigger than the thickest part of your snake).

If Medusa as still showing a fair sized lump on 1 pinkie then the food is the correct size IMHO.

If you're still thinking about up sizing then ask your food supplier to show you the next size up (fuzzie/fluffs whatever they call them) and see if you think it's too big or not.

Hope this helps.

well if she seems happy on what she's eating at the mo, no need to up it i suppose? if its the double feed she has the problem with, perhaps one fuzzy instead of two pinkies WOULD help but really, a small fuzzy can be smaller than a big pinkie anyway so you probably dont stand to gain as much as you risk by altering her diet if she is comfortable. in shorter (simpler) terms, id try her on one fuzzy if shes fine, all good and go from there, if not, stick to a single decent sized pinkie and play it by ear. after all the regurge might have been a one off.
