Posted - 21/12/2010 : 10:18:51 I hope to start getting 2 vivs ready for Frank and Keith in the new year but am unsure on lighting for them. Their 2 ft vivs are on the bottom of my stack so are a little dark this time of year. I use a strip light in my 2 larger vivs simply because that is what they came with. I was thinking of using a normal household low energy bulb for the two 2ft vivs. So I have a couple of questions;
Am I right in thinking these lights still need a guard?
Frank has red eyes so would this type of bulb be ok for him? (don't want to damage his little eyes)
Thanks. |

Posted - 21/12/2010 : 16:06:07 you can get led strips on ebay they look pretty snazzy in vivs and you can hide them well :) |

Posted - 21/12/2010 : 13:50:29 always use a guard to be safe because all bulbs get hot :) and tbh they wont care to much if they have light or not so if its for ur viewing then i would use a blue bulb |
