I weighed Ozzy today and am trying to work out based upon his weight how many pinkies I should buy next week.

I thought I would ask on here as I don't have any mice to weigh myself, how much does the average pinkie weigh? Obviously they will vary but its just to get a rough idea of how many to buy and then the same with fuzzys how much do they usually weigh.

Thanks in advance

Think it depends where you shop. I went through this with Loki a few weeks ago. Was sent a link to an online store with the weights of each size mouse.
They had pinkies which were between 1 and 2g,then large pinkies which were between 3 and 4g,then fuzzies etc.
I weighed the pinkies I had and they were all approx 1-2g.
The pet shop by me doesn't do large pinkies so I got them to pick out the 2g ones and doubled up for a few weeks. He had his first fuzzie last week (got them to root around and pick the smallest ones out)

Depends. Small pinkies/Day olds are as GP said. Larger ones can be like 3-4

pinkies are usually 1-2g each in weight

Have just found this very helpful topic and now feel like a bit of a fool for asking now and thought it would be a good conclusion to the topic to post it here

lol I have tried googling it but theres a minefield of information....

TBH I'm just trying to over prepared and I should probably just buy my bulk like I usually do and weigh them then check how many each snake should be getting and take it from there.

I'm just thinking that Ozzy could have done with 2 pinkies, he is 4 months old and weighs 12g but his feeding chart up til now says he has had 1 pinkie a week....

TBH I have no idea, I've never weighed one! I feed my corns on the size rather than weight. I'm sure I read it in a book once but I can't remember which one...
