Posted - 17/10/2010 : 22:01:08 so.... got me a new snake 2day, and ive tried connecting talulas stat and mat with the new snakes mat, the mats are exactly the same and i have plugged an extention lead into the stat and the mats then into the extention (is this right?) talulas temps are fine but the new mat wont heat up when attached to the extention/stat but will when plugged directly into the wall socket. What am i doing wrong? lol |

Posted - 20/10/2010 : 14:31:06 sounds like you've got it all plugged in correctly but you need the new mat to be running warm first
start by plugging the 2nd mat directly into a wall socket (ie. NOT through the stat), keep an eye on the temps and when it's got up to the same temp as the first mat THEN plug it into the extension so it's running through the stat again |

Posted - 18/10/2010 : 12:23:06 i tried this and in theory it should work but i could'nt get any of the mats to be the same temps, better off getting another stat imo. |

As for the mat not working, i can only assume that the mat you have the stat probe on is reaching the set temp before the new mat has time to heat up, hence the mat stat stops heating. Unplug both mats and leave them to go cold, then plug them both in at the same time. Worth a try? |
